Because of the pressure of environmental protection, the use of oily products has been restricted in leather processing and manufacturing, automobile interior decoration, and many other complex areas. Only water-based products near the function have been selected to replace them. Therefore, many enterprises begin to search for water-based products suitable for themselves. Waterborne resins are widely used, including water-borne coatings, water-borne ink, textile finishing, water-borne adhesives, etc.

Waterborne resin packaging: Waterborne resin packaging is generally used in opaque plastic containers, while oily resin is generally used in metal packaging barrels, because water will corrode metal, resulting in packaging leakage or product deterioration.

Flammability of waterborne resins: Most waterborne resins are non-flammable, but a few may be flammable due to the presence of more organic solvents.

The harmfulness of water-borne resin to human and environment: no organic solvent or a small amount of organic solvent, low toxicity to human, such as pouring water-borne polyurethane resin into the tank of goldfish, goldfish can still swim healthily. It has a certain impact on the environment, and its waste should still be treated according to general chemicals to prevent pollution of the ecological environment.

Storage and transportation of water-borne resins: sealed storage, and storage and transportation needs to ensure that the temperature between 5 and 30 degrees Celsius, to prevent temperature below zero, to prevent freezing, ring-breaking resin stability in water. Storage temperature can reach half a year or more.

Viscosity of Waterborne Resin: Viscosity testers for water-borne resins include rotating viscometer (mPa. s) and coating-4 cups (s). Viscosity of water-borne resins can be adjusted by thickeners because of the different viscosities used in different use scenarios.

Softness and Hardness of Water-borne Resin: When the water in the water-borne resin evaporates, it will form a film. What we need is this film, that is, the softness and hardness of the film. When it comes to softness and hardness, there is a need for improvement in terms of glass transition temperature (Tg). Waterborne resins belong to macromolecule polymers. Generally, polymers also have three kinds of conditions: glass state with high hardness, elastic state with high elasticity and viscous flow state with fluidity, while Tg is the transition temperature between hard and elastic state. For example, when water-borne epoxy resin and water-borne acrylic resin are used as water-borne paint, Tg is required to be higher, which is very hard at room temperature and can play a protective and scratch-proof role; when water-borne polyurethane resin is used in high-functional fabric finishing, it requires water-borne polyurethane resin to be soft and elastic, then Tg is lower, and water-borne polyurethane resin is in a high elastic state at room temperature. To facilitate understanding, we can think that Tg is hard when it is high, and soft when it is low.
